Major League Baseball (MLB) left-hander Sean Manaea (32) is expected to reject the New York Mets’ qualifying offer ($210.5 million).
Citing sports media ESPN, MLB Trade Rumors said Manea, one of the 13 players who received QS this year, is highly likely to enter the free agent 토토사이트 market. The deadline for deciding QO is April 4 (Korea Standard Time).
Manaea, who debuted with the Oakland Athletics in 2016, played 228 games (198 starts) until last season. He played 1,184 and one-third innings, and won 77 games (62 losses). His ERA was just 4.00. He also pitched a no-hitter against the Boston Red Sox on April 22, 2018.
During the 2024 season when he was a member of the Mets, he recorded 12 wins and 6 losses with an ERA of 3.47, showing good performance. He also pitched in the postseason four times.
Manaea signed a two-year, $28 million contract with the Mets last winter. However, he exercised the contract after including an opt-out clause that would allow him to become a free agent after the 2024 season. The Mets, whose starting lineup was shaky this season, gave him a QO, but Manaea seems to be confident of a better contract. MLB Trade Rumors predicted that Manaea will sign a three-year, $60 million contract.
Since the Mets gave Manaea a QO, the team that recruits Manaea has to yield one rookie nomination right to the Mets. Under these circumstances, Manaea’s stock price is expected to rise. Many teams that advanced to the postseason, including the Los Angeles Dodgers, the winner of this season’s World Series, suffered from lack of starting pitchers.
